Our services

We provide expert witness services under Czech Act No. 254/2019 Coll. in information and communications technology, cybersecurity, and economics, with a focus on ICT valuation. We also provide independent technical assessments and oversight.

Expert reports and technical assessments

We determine what was delivered, its condition and capabilities, and what can be substantiated by the available evidence. We distinguish findings from assumptions.

Deliverable: an expert witness report, a professional opinion, or a technical analysis

Typical requests
  • What a system actually does compared with the contract or specifications
  • The status of a deliverable and which defects can be substantiated by the evidence
  • How an ICT project unfolded and which questions the available evidence cannot answer

ICT valuation

We assess the value of technology, software, and work performed, and explain the methodology we used and why.

Deliverable: a valuation report explaining the selected methodology

Typical requests
  • The value of an information system, a software license, or specific work performed
  • How to value an incomplete or disputed deliverable
  • Which figures are inputs and which support a conclusion

Cybersecurity and digital evidence

We identify vulnerabilities, explain how an incident unfolded, and determine what evidence can be collected and preserved to demonstrate authenticity and integrity. We do not guarantee the outcome of legal proceedings or the overall security of a system or environment.

Deliverable: a test report, an incident analysis, or documentation of evidence collection and preservation

  • Independent testing of web, enterprise, and mobile applications without relying on the vendor
  • Collection and documentation of digital evidence following an incident
  • Technical analysis of an incident or personal data breach — without promising a particular legal outcome

Independent technical oversight and consulting

We independently assess project progress, the scope of the deliverables, and associated risks. We keep consulting engagements separate from expert witness work that requires independence.

Deliverable: an oversight report, a deliverable assessment, or recommended corrective actions

  • Client-side oversight of the quality and scope of an ICT implementation
  • A cybersecurity management audit or recommendations for improvement
  • Architecture assessment, including ArchiMate models and Czech eGovernment services

How we work

  1. Scope and independence We agree on the questions to be addressed, the purpose of the deliverable, and whether the engagement involves expert witness work or consulting. If the engagement would compromise our independence, we say so before work begins.
  2. Records and method We review the available evidence and choose a methodology it can support. We identify any missing information.
  3. Analysis and checks We base our findings on traceable sources. Documentation is not the same as a working system; when the engagement requires it, we examine both.
  4. Conclusion and its limits We distinguish substantiated findings from assumptions and questions that the available evidence cannot answer. If the evidence is insufficient, we state that limitation explicitly.

Vít Lidinský

ICT expert witness · cybersecurity instructor & auditor

More than 20 years of experience in ICT. He is an expert witness in information and communications technology, as well as a cybersecurity instructor and auditor. He assesses information systems and security controls, and conducts training and audits under Czech cybersecurity law.

David Mašín

ICT valuation · cybersecurity

More than 25 years of experience in ICT. He focuses on ICT valuation and cybersecurity. His expert witness work combines technical analysis with assessments of value and risk in ICT projects. He has also led large-scale implementations, giving him firsthand insight into the other side of the table.

Michal Beneš

Project management · solution architecture · cybersecurity

More than 20 years of experience in ICT as a specialist, manager, and consultant. He leads and evaluates information system implementations, solution architecture, and cybersecurity initiatives. In expert witness work, he draws on experience in project management, ITSM, and established ICT standards.

Zdeněk Hřích

Networks & telecommunications · infrastructure

More than 20 years of experience with LAN, MAN, and WAN networks and telecommunications. As a technical specialist, he manages infrastructure, operating systems, and databases. In expert witness work, he assesses network and infrastructure issues—not marketing claims about “optimization.”

Petr Lidinský

Technical & data analysis · testing · source code

More than 15 years of experience in technical and data analysis. He tests systems, analyzes operational data, and reviews source code. In expert witness work, he focuses on what a system actually does, not what its documentation claims.

Tomáš Mertl

Solution architecture · development · penetration testing

More than 20 years of experience as a programmer, solution architect, and development lead. His work also covers cybersecurity standards, regulatory compliance, and penetration testing. He assesses whether architecture and code work in practice, not just in a vendor presentation.

Michaela Pavlíček Vedralová

Economic analysis · ICT valuation

15 years of experience in economic analysis across industries. She conducts valuations of ICT assets, including work performed and individual components of an implementation. In expert witness work, she develops valuation methodologies that can be reproduced from the underlying evidence.

Ladislav Štefek

Data analysis · information-system architecture

20 years of experience in ICT. He began in acoustic signal analysis and later led change management at a multinational company. Today, he analyzes data and designs information system architectures, with a preference for what can be measured, not merely diagrammed.
